Durham coach Martyn Moxon is looking forward to having international pair Martin Love and Shoaib Akhtar in his side to face Worcestershire at New Road next week, writes Jeff Bowron.

Moxon has identified Durham's seventh championship game of the summer as "a very important game" with Durham only 15 points off a promotion place.

Neither Love, who will depart for Australia after that game, or new signing Akhtar feature in the four-day friendly with India A, which begins at the Riverside tomorrow.

But after Worcester both will be in tandem for the final five championship matches as the Riversiders attempt to reclaim First Division status.

Moxon said: "Whoever wins at Worcester will give their promotion bid a massive boost.

"With Love then away until the beginning of August we need to have a look at a replacement during the India game."

With that in mind, Michael Gough returns to the side after missing the last drawn championship game against Hampshire. …
