Northumberland building contractor, Kendall Cross Holdings, has appointed Kevin Hayes as associate director for quantity surveying and quality assurance.

With more than 21 years' experience of the construction industry, Kevin, a qualified quantity surveyor, has been with Kendall Cross Holdings for eight years and now joins chairman, Neil Ramsey, managing director, Ian Graham, and contracts & safety director, Malcolm Paton, on the company's board.

Kevin, who lives with his wife and two children in Kingston Park, Newcastle, said: "I'm delighted to have been invited to join the board of what is one of the region's leading contractors.

"When I first joined the company, in 1995, Kendall Cross' partnering and non-confrontational approach to their clients was unique in the region, but is now almost the model for the present partnering arrangements promoted under the Latham & Egan reports and Rethinking Construction movement.

"The obvious attraction is to be involved in the decision making that determines the way the company progresses in the future and I see my role as ensuring we build on both the well established relationships and the expertise in partnering we've built up. …
