Baldwin to Mark July 4th Holiday with Celebration

The town of Baldwin will celebrate July Fourth with a fireworks display at 9 p.m. at Baldwin Middle-Senior High School. Gates open at 8 p.m., and limited seating is available. Spectators can park in front of the school.

The Baldwin Band Boosters will sell food and drinks. No alcoholic beverages or personal fireworks are allowed.

-- Riverside-Avondale residents are invited to a neighborhood conversation to discuss parks, medians and neighborhood gardens from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. July 9 at the Willowbranch library, 2875 Park St. The monthly series was started by Lee Hunter, a former environmental science teacher.

"I want people from all walks of life in the neighborhood to have the opportunity to sit down and get to know each other without having to make a commitment to solve a problem or join a committee," Hunter said.
