The next phase of work has started on Darlington's rapidly developing Lingfield Point business complex.

Construction work has begun on a new 277-space car park to cater for the growing number of businesses which are relocating to the site.

The main contractor for the work, which is expected to be finished around mid-August, is Ballast Construction N E which is working on various projects at Lingfield Point.

Four Seasons Health Care has recently moved 60 staff into 13,300 sq ft of newly refurbished office accommodation and business services organisation Capita, is moving 400 staff to specially renovated state-of-the-art new premises within Lingfield House, which is currently undergoing significant work.

Coats Crafts UK, which is part of international company Coats, has also added a further 30,000 square feet of warehousing to its existing distribution facility.

Lingfield House was originally the home of Paton and Baldwin's, once Europe's biggest manufacturer of wool and still on the site in the form of Coats Craft UK. …
