The robbery of a Flagler County real estate agent last week is being linked to a man who authorities think committed similar robberies in Florida and Georgia, officials said.

A man matching the same physical description is thought to be connected to a similar robbery in July in Flagler County and previous robberies in Brevard and Volusia counties in Florida and in Brunswick, Ga., and Valdosta, Ga., said Debra Johnson of the Flagler County Sheriff's Office.

The latest victim is a Palm Coast woman in her 70s who was contacted Friday about a condominium for sale. The man lured her into his vehicle after viewing the property, saying she needed to go to his attorney's office to make purchase arrangements, officials said. He then forced her to write a $1,000 check and cash it at her bank. He later made her withdraw another $1,000 from her account using an ATM, officials said.

The man drove her around for several hours before dropping her off unharmed in northeast Flagler County, officials said.

Because the man is targeting women, authorities suggest female real estate agents bring along a man when showing property or ask for additional information such as the caller's telephone number, place of employment or references before arranging a meeting.

Anyone with information is asked to Flagler County Crime Stoppers at 1-888-277-8477. Callers can remain anonymous and could get a reward.
