Vieira Accuses FA of Being Anti-Arsenal

PATRICK VIEIRA today accused the Football Association of anti-Arsenal bias.

The Arsenal captain insisted that Sol Campbell was only being charged by the FA for violent conduct following the Community Shield because "he is an Arsenal player".

Vieira's comments are sure to fuel the the controversy that reached new heights this week when it was revealed that the England defender had asked for a meeting with the FA to discuss matters amid speculation that he was considering quitting international football because of their actions.

And Vieira's outspoken words could also prove an embarassment to Arsenal vice-chairman David Dein, who is also vice-chairman of the FA.

Campbell feels aggrieved that the Manchester United player Eric Djemba-Djemba, who was also involved in the incident that referee Steve Bennett only reported after watching the video, has not been charged.

And the decision to ban him for three matches last season following his sending off against United, but not allow him a personal hearing to appeal, is still an open wound. …
