James Given is hopeful Summitville has the ability to hold her own against the colts when she takes them on in a bid to land the Seabiscuit St Leger at Doncaster on Saturday week.

The Lincolnshire trainer admits the task will be tough but feels the Grand Lodge filly deserves to take her chance in the final Classic of the season.

"It's always a big ask for fillies to take the colts on but, as much as you can be sure of any three-year-old running in the Classics and Group Ones, she is going to relish the test," he said. "She's got the right attitude."

Bought for just 7,000 guineas as a yearling, Summitville has gone from strength to strength this year. A seventh in the Sagitta 1000 Guineas was followed by a fine third to Casual Look in the Vodafone Oaks and a similar position behind Islington in the Yorkshire Oaks.

There were a couple of blips in between which her trainer freely admits can be put down to his judgement. …
