Where do you live and why?

I live in Barnes. It's ideal because it's close to Central London but also has a villagey feel to it.

How long have you lived there?

Six years. Before that I lived in Clapham.

Where were the last three places you went on holiday?

New York, where I used to live, and I've also recently been to Wyoming and Sydney.

What was the last play you saw in London and did you enjoy it?

My Fair Lady and it was 'lovverly'. I don't go to the theatre that often, but I try to make it three or four times a year.

What advice would you give to a tourist?

Visit the London Eye, take a boat cruise from there, then go for a trampoline jump in front of the Aquarium!

Who's in your secret address book?

I like to go to Riverside Studios to watch films - they always have a good selection of movies. I go to Peach Tree Beauty Clinic for facials (in Barnes) and I go to Kate Isaacs at Michaeljohn in Mayfair to have my hair done.

What is your earliest London memory?

Arriving for the first time in 1986 and loving the green spaces and the scale of the city. Just before that I had been working in Washington DC as a management consultant.

What do you miss most when you're out of London?

Walking along the Thames.

What are your favourite home comforts?

My bookshelf - I'm constantly reading - and broadband internet connection - I love using it for news, research and just generally surfing.

What is your life philosophy?

Go for it.

What are your favourite shops?

Claudia Sebire on the Fulham Road. I go there because I'm good friends with Claudia herself, but I'm a big fan of her suits and jackets also.

Do you have a favourite pub?

Yes. The Bridge in Barnes - when it was renovated a while back I invested in it.

What perfume do you wear? …
