The decision to lift sanctions on Libya imposed after the Lockerbie bombing has been met with a mixture of delight, relief and pain by families of the victims.

The United Nations Security Council lifted sanctions, following Libya's agreement to renounce terrorism and pay pounds 1.7 billion compensation to the families of Lockerbie victims.

Gold delight

AN Olympic-style challenge that pitted celebrities against each other on Channel 4 has come to an exciting end. So Solid Crew member Harvey, aged 24, won the men's title and gold medal but was pushed all the way by Major James Hewitt, 44, who finished second. In the women's event actress Terri Dwyer, 30, and Miss World Azra Akin, 21, from Turkey shared the top spot .
