WTEV TV-47 hits the college football jackpot tomorrow when it begins with a noon telecast of Florida-Tennessee from The Swamp, followed by LSU-Georgia at 3:30 in Death Valley.

Record crowds could be established at Florida Field and Tiger Stadium for the games, each featuring two top-20 teams. Both games will be telecast nationally, but the Bulldogs-Tigers contest has the network's top announce team of Verne Lundquist, Todd Blackledge and Jill Arrington. Craig Bolerjack and Spencer Tillman will call the action in Gainesville.

Tomorrow's telecast will mark the studio analyst debut of Tom Coughlin. The former Jaguars coach will join Tim Brando at the CBS studios in New York for College Football Today pregame, halftime and postgame segments.

Coughlin joined Dan Hicken and Jeff Prosser on WNNR (1570 AM) yesterday and was gushing about the Gators' talent and youth. He likes UF freshman quarterback Chris Leak, saying he "has a chance to be real special."

Hicken and Prosser chided Coughlin about joining "the dark side" of football -- i.e. the media -- but Coughlin just laughed.

CHANGES AT WTEV/WAWS -- Jordan Siegel, second in line behind sports director Ryan Elijah at WTEV TV-47/WAWS TV-30, has left the station after five years. John Dunlap, former sports director for the ABC affiliate in Panama City and a former intern at WJXT TV-4, has joined the TV-47/TV-30 staff and will anchor and report, as well as becoming a member of the Jaguars pregame show each Sunday at 11:30 a.m. Kim Coyle will take on more reporting, videography and production of segments.

Viewers now have another way to vent following Jaguars games. TV-47 will devote a portion of its 11:20 p.m. Sunday sports segment to taking fan questions or opinions, with Elijah and Jaguars radio announcer Brian Sexton providing the answers. …
