It's back and it's better than ever before!

Arc is re-launching this Saturday, September 27. We've got a new team, a new direction and a brand new brochure full of exciting events for the first season.

Final preparations for the grand re-opening are under way, which includes a host of free arts and educational activities on offer in and around the venue from midday on Saturday.

As director of the new Arc, for me it's a very exciting time. There's a big buzz about the place. It's what we've all been working towards for months and it will be great to see the people of Teesside being entertained and enjoying the venue.

After all, Arc is for and about the people of Teesside. We want everybody to feel that they can find something here for them whether they want to be entertained, challenged, educated or simply meet new people and make new friendships.

Yes there is a strong emphasis on education - but it's not just about young people. Arc is for people of all ages and our workshops and activities reflect that.

And while we have a great programme of events lined up for this season - Arc is not just about people coming along to watch performances. It's about people 'doing' as well as 'watching'.

We want them engage in and be a part of Arc. We want, and will be actively seeking, the opinions of people on Teesside. Arc is there for them and they need to tell us what they want to use it for.

One thing we won't be overlooking either is the incredible skills base of talent in this region. Arc is about working and developing people's ambitions and talents, about creating opportunities for people to do the things they have always wanted.

We have an opportunity to work with many different partners across the Tees Valley to really make a difference to people's quality of life. To raise the profile of Teesside across the country and to give people a chance to express themselves in a creative way. …
