More than 2,000 teenagers helped a first birthday to go with a bang.

People aged 13 to 19 turned out in droves to help Connexions Tees Valley celebrate its big day in style.

Everything from the Armed Forces to arts and crafts was on offer at the event at Tall Trees in Yarm, as well as fun and games to keep the teenagers entertained.

Guests could visit displays from organisations including the Royal National Lifeboat Institution and take part in hair, beauty and fashion demonstrations.

Visitors could also try their skills on a strength-testing bungee run and climbing wall, as well as human table football and a bucking bronco.

The Evening Gazette was on hand, along with Darlington College of Technology, to help to prepare a newsletter about the special day.

The stream of guests was kept partying into the night, with special performances from pop stars D-Side and Ian Van Dahl, at Club M.
