LADY BRONCOS TUMBLE

The No. 2-ranked Pedro Menendez High School volleyball team outlasted No. 3 Middleburg in five sets Tuesday, handing the Lady Broncos their first loss in nine matches. Middleburg won the second and fourth games of the five-set match, but Menendez (9-2) pulled out game 5, 15-10.

Stephanie Bradley again led Middleburg with 14 kills, adding a team-high four aces in 11 serves. Teammate Amanda Youell had 32 assists.

FLEMING ISLAND ROLLS

Fleming Island High School remained unbeaten in volleyball by taking three straight sets from Lake City Columbia Tuesday night. The 6-0 Golden Eagles were led by sophomore Ricci Hall's five aces, 16 serves and 28 assists. Freshman teammate Rebecca Royal helped with eight kills. Lake City fell to 4-3.

SWEEP FOR SPARTANS

The No. 3-ranked St. Johns Country Day School Lady Spartans swept University Christian in three sets Tuesday night on the strength of junior Christie Jones, who had 18 assists and five aces in 14 serves. …
