Following is a list of arrests and crimes reported by Beaches-area police departments:


A man reported Wednesday that someone tried to pry open the door to his 1987 Nissan pickup truck in the 300 block of Ahern Street.

A woman reported Wednesday that someone entered her car in the 700 block of Atlantic Boulevard and stole $381.

Police arrested a man Saturday and charged him with aggravated assault and criminal mischief after his roommate reported that he was threatening him with a chain saw in the 1400 block of Jasmine Street.

Police had gone to the home earlier in the day after a call about the two roommates fighting. After police left, they got into another argument and one of them began throwing items -- including the victim's printer, scanner and television -- around the house.

When the victim tried to leave, the roommate went to the garage, returned with a chain saw and told the victim he wouldn't leave the house.


A 29-year-old man was arrested on a trespassing charge Friday after he was found sleeping in a tool shed in the 100 block of Fourth Avenue South.

The homeowner called police after she heard the man try to open her front door. Police found the man drunk and sleeping in the shed.

Officers arrested a 27-year-old man on a charge of strong-arm robbery Friday involving an attack that occurred in another man's truck in the 400 block of First Street North.

The victim told police that the man knocked on his truck window and he opened the door to see what the man wanted. He said the man grabbed his cell phone and slammed him into his truck seat.

A man reported Thursday that someone took his car keys from the beach at the end of Seventh Avenue South and stole his 1996 Toyota Corolla, which contained his wallet and cell phone.

A woman told police Thursday that her home in the 500 block of Fifth Avenue South was burglarized and that her stereo and 500 CDs were stolen.

A 21-year-old man was charged Thursday with leaving an accident scene with property damage after a June 3 accident in which he struck three air conditioners behind Gene's Seafood at 1249 Penman Road. …
