Three teams - Shankhouse, West Allotment Celtic and Percy Main, are threatening to break away from the pack in the Premier Division and with only one point separating these front-runners all have their sights set on pole position this weekend.

Shankhouse are currently just shading it in top spot and could be fancied to secure their fifth win on the trot at the expense of Newcastle University at Cochrane Park. The Students are propping up the table while their visitors are in excellent form at present. And although Shankhouse lost regular marksman Graham Craggs to Gateshead, Steve Earl is proving his worth. West Allotment's absence last Saturday cost them the leadership slot and unbeaten so far they will be pulling out all the stops at Percy Main in the match of the day. The Villagers however will be tough opponents having extended their own unbeaten streak to six matches.

Although they haven't yet made a big impression this season, Ponteland United are occupying a respectable fifth place and could move up another notch by beating today's visitors Chopwell Top Club. …
