World to Be Set Thinking by Artificial Intelligence

An artificial intelligence product developed by a North-East company is set to get the international business world thinking.
Newcastle-based Ridge Media is hoping that its Generic Artificial Intelligence Algorithm (GAIA) system will help win custom from across the globe and take the company to a new stage in its development.
Ridge Media is looking to sell and market the technology under licence to make products with applications for the computer games industry, financial forecasting and the education, learning and health sectors.
The company is exhibiting GAIA at the COMDEX Fall technology, in Las Vegas later this month.
Ridge Media will be part of a 24-strong North-East delegation comprising representatives from 11 companies and four organisations heading for the show from November 17 to 20.
Managing director Mike Hendy said: "By going to COMDEX, one of the world's largest technology exhibitions, we hope to achieve two key objectives in an international environment featuring representatives from Microsoft, Sun, Oracle and AT&T Wireless.
"The event provides major networking opportunities, attracting some of the major players in our industry. …
