'KICKED OUT LIKE A DOG'; Exclusive: Police Highflier Tells How Racists Tried to Hound Him from His Job at the Yard

A SENIOR Asian police officer today accuses Scotland Yard of having treated him "like a dog".

Superintendent Ali Dizaei was spectacularly cleared of corruption charges after a [pounds sterling]2million investigation into his affairs.

Today he accuses a handful of senior officers of having treated him appallingly following his suspension and arrest.

In an exclusive interview with the Evening Standard he said: "I was suspended and kicked out onto the street. Like a dog. I was dazed and sick and shaking. I was being treated like a dirty terrorist."

Dr Dizaei reveals that he suffered a catalogue-of obscene racist abuse from the moment he joined the police in 1986 but he hoped this would end as he rose through the ranks. Today, however, he says he experienced overt prejudice from senior figures and claims the corruption charges were a deliberate move to oust him.

"It would be months before I would realise what their game was - I was black and there were elements high up in the force who were determined to get rid of me," he said. …
