Jewelry Stolen from Apartment Complexes; Police Briefing

Jewelry was the main target when apartments at three Mandarin complexes were broken into this week, police said.

Two gold and diamond bracelets, a bracelet and two DVD movies valued together at $290 were stolen between 7 a.m. and 4:45 p.m. Monday, after someone forced open the door of an apartment at 10263 Whispering Forest Drive, police said. A gold necklace, garnet and gold jewelry, two gold wedding bands, a purse containing 20 silver dollars, a silver broach and a bag of jewelry valued together at $925 were stolen from another apartment between 12:01 a.m. and 6 p.m. Monday after someone jimmied a lock, police said.

A diamond ring, an emerald and diamond ring, two gold and diamond bracelets and a gold and diamond necklace valued together at $3,100 were stolen from the bedroom of an apartment at 3900 Oldfield Crossing Drive between 8:10 a.m. and 2:55 p.m. Monday Police said someone forced open the door.

Sometime between 7:15 a.m. and 4:15 p.m. Monday, someone broke into an apartment at 10275 St. Augustine Road and stole a laptop valued at $1,389. Nothing else was touched or taken, police said. The same thing happened to another apartment in the same complex between 8:30 a.m. and 7:45 p.m. Monday, when gold earrings, two gold necklaces, a silver ankle bracelet, silver necklace and a gold angel pin valued together at $490 were stolen, police said. In both cases, police said there were no signs of forced entry.
