Farlington Can Go Far at Hexham

Former point-to-point star Farlington made a pleasing debut over regulation fences last week and is napped to land the spoils in Hexham's Ramside Event Catering Beginners' Chase tomorrow.

The Howard Johnston-trained gelding ran a close second to Joint Authority at Sedgefield and should prove better for the experience.

Graham Lee's mount was beaten just a neck on that occasion, despite making a mistake at the last, and looks sure to go close in tomorrow's lesser event.

Peccadillo has been running well of late and can make the most of the drop in trip in the Cadogan Charity Chase Showcase Handicap at Kempton.

The Un Desperado gelding still has question marks against him over three miles-plus, but has plenty of good form at shorter distances like tomorrow's extended two and a half miles.

On his last effort over the shorter trip he put up a promising display at Huntingdon, where he was beaten three-quarters of a length by Hit Royal.

Robert Alner's charge has since been beaten twice at longer distances, although his second to the rapidly-improving Swansea Bay now looks very respectable.

The latter landed the Edward Hanmer Chase at Haydock last Sunday, form which puts Peccadillo in with a massive shout tomorrow.

Sure Future, who drops in class, can romp home in the jobs@pertemps Handicap Hurdle over three miles one furlong.

The seven-year-old has not been seen out for almost a year but looked to be rapidly improving 12 months ago.

He spreadeagled the field at Folkestone before going on to be beaten a short head at Ascot. His final run of the season came in a competitive class C handicap at Kempton, where he gained another clear-cut success.

A 6lb rise in the weights should not stop the gelding gaining another course-and-distance win as he continues his rise through the ranks. …
