Sir bobby robson was in no hurry to name his Newcastle United side today as he waits for key midfielder Gary Speed, writes ALAN OLIVER.

But there was no place in the squad for Nobby Solano who, like Speed, has been away on international duty this week.

With Kieron Dyer and Jonathan Woodgate fit again, Robson has a full squad to pick from apart from long-term injury victim Craig Bellamy and full-back Andy Griffin who only started full training today after his ankle problems.

The United boss said: "Gary Speed has had two mammoth games for his country. He really gave his all and he will be tired. He will also be down because Wales did not get to the finals but he is a fitness fanatic and a fantastic professional.

"He will want to play against Manchester City, I know that, and I also know that he will give me an honest opinion of how he feels. But at the end of the day I have to decide whether to play him or start off with him on the bench. …
