BURNING ISSUE

Running game: The Jaguars need to be more patient with the running game. They were quick to get away from it Sunday in New England when Fred Taylor ran only 16 times. When Taylor has carried 24 or more times this year, the team has gone 4-1. When he's carried 22 or fewer times -- including nine, 14 twice and 16 twice -- the team has gone 0-9. With a rookie quarterback in Byron Leftwich, the Jaguars need to take the burden off him by stressing the run.

GAME BALLS

WR Kevin Johnson: The former Cleveland Brown knows all about playing in cold weather and showed it by catching a team-high five passes for 87 yards, including a 27-yard touchdown catch in the fourth quarter. That was the first TD allowed by New England at home in five games.

MLB Mike Peterson: He finished with a team-high 14 tackles -- four more than any other Jaguars defender -- and recorded his first sack since 2001. …
