MIAMI -- When it comes to strategy for Thursday's Orange Bowl, Miami and Florida State share the same idea of what it takes to win, and know it won't be easy.

"Against most teams, we're trying to run for 200 yards a game," Miami offensive line coach Art Kehoe said. "Against Florida State, if you break the 100-yard barrier you're accomplishing a lot. That's the way we go in. We go in telling our backs to get their shoulders squared up, that 2- and 3-yard gains are good gains.

"When we were losing to them for five years in a row, we constantly had third down and 17, second down and 14, and I don't care who you are. We were getting quarterbacks thrashed, we were getting interceptions, we were getting quarterbacks knocked out of the game."

Kehoe has helped significantly upgrade the Hurricanes' offensive line, just as the Seminoles have done in order to counter Miami's strength along the defensive front.
