A shining light for so many: In a life cut tragically short, Lesley Hanson was a shining influence for good. All those she touched will feel a light has gone out.

If a person's time on earth is best judged by the effect they have had on others then Lesley has earned the highest accolade.

Those who met her talk of her kindness, happiness and sense of humour. She put people at ease, she inspired, she had a dream.

More than all of that she worked tirelessly to turn that dream of helping others into reality.

Perhaps the greatest tribute that could be paid, is that her husband Duane has vowed to continue to carry out her vision with vigour. He knows that is what she would have wanted and expected of him.

When Lesley decided parents of special needs children deserved more support she set off on a crusade that raised hundreds of thousands of pounds.

She will be best remembered for her valiant work setting up the Daisy Chain charity. Yet despite all her efforts driving this initiative, she found time to run a mother and toddler group for special needs children during holidays, helped elderly couples with cooking and cleaning and fostered many children. …
