Police are looking for three men in a light blue Ford F-150-style truck who apparently tried to kidnap a 16-year-old Mandarin girl Sunday afternoon as she was walking in the 10500 block of Scott Mill Road.

Police said the girl was walking home about 4:20 p.m. when the truck pulled into a private road nearby and two men jumped out. They grabbed the girl, one man covering her mouth with his hand as he told her not to do anything, adding "You just need to come with us," according to the police report.

As the men pulled the girl toward the truck, she told police she could see a handgun lying on the seat. As she was dragged closer to the truck, another car slowed down nearby and the driver asked whether anyone needed help. The men said no and the driver took off. But when they came to a stop farther down the road, one of the suspects called the other by name and said "They are coming back," so they released the girl and fled south on Scott Mill Road.

The girl, who was not injured, went to her boyfriend's home to call police. Police issued a bulletin on the truck, and searched the area where the incident was reported, but found nothing.
