The news that Julio Iglesias Snr is pregnant at the age of 87 will put a song in the heart of old men everywhere. Here are some other new fathers who'll be sharing the baby food

At 87, Julio Iglesias Snr has just announced that his wife Ronna - a mere stripling at 40 - is expecting a baby in March. The child will be a baby brother to crooner Julio Iglesias, 60, and an uncle to Enrique, 28. Clearly there's something in the genes. Julio Jnr said: 'I hope I'm still having babies at 87.' Bet his wife was thrilled about that.

The Marquess of Bath raised eyebrows in 1999 when he announced that one of his many 'wifelets' had made him a father again at an impressive 67. 'He's happy,' a friend of the proud dad stated, before adding darkly: 'But nobody else is.' 'The children do disapprove,' the Marquess confessed. But what can you do when your nickname is the Loins of Longleat?

Perhaps working with a horde of thieving children when he played Fagin put Ron Moody off starting his own gang until he was 62.
