The major change Florida coach Ron Zook made to his coaching staff Thursday will result in very minor differences in the Gators' offense in 2004.

Zook said Larry Fedora, promoted from perimeter game coordinator to replace Ed Zaunbrecher, will not make any changes to the offense. There will be some small adjustments, but Zook called them nothing more than "tweaks" to the system that Fedora and Zaunbrecher developed the past two seasons.

"This offense is not going to change," Zook said. "When I hired Ed and Larry, it was with the understanding that this system is never going to change.

"We ran far less bubble screens this year than the first year," said Fedora, who will call the plays from the press box. "It's not even close. But the perception is that's all we do."

Zook said he also decided to make the move because having Zaunbrecher work exclusively with the quarterbacks would be an asset for sophomore Chris Leak. …
