POLICE BRIEFS; Man Tells Police His Ex-Girlfriend Broke in, Stole Dog

Following is a list of arrests and crimes reported by Beaches-area police departments:
A man told police Jan. 23 that his ex-girlfriend stole a pit bull that she had given him as a gift.
He said he heard a crashing sound at his home in the 700 block of Cavalla Road, ran to his living room and saw the front door broken in and the woman putting the dog in her car.
Officers arrested a homeless man on a drug charge Jan. 30 after stopping his bicycle in the 100 block of Lewis Street about 1:30 a.m. and finding crack cocaine in his mouth.
A 26-year-old man was arrested on charges of breach of peace and resisting an officer Jan. 31 while police tried to quell a screaming group of 25 people who gathered in the 1000 block of Francis Street.
A woman reported Sunday that vandals shot two window panes in her home in the 100 block of Jackson Road with a BB gun, spun their car tires and sped away.
A man told police Monday that someone stole a $1,500 watch from the console of his car in the 2200 block of Oceanforest Drive.
A man reported Wednesday that someone broke into his 2003 Chevy Silverado in the 1100 block of 20th Street North and stole his cell phone and sunglasses.
A woman told police Wednesday that her car stereo, compact discs and two bottles of perfume were stolen from her 2001 Honda in the 100 block of 30th Avenue South.
