Eastenders bad boy Trevor Morgan is being brought back to life - by the man behind the Catherine Cookson TV dramas.

Producer Ray Marshall has cast Alex Ferns, who played Little Mo's husband in the soap, in a new movie partly shot on Tyneside.

Man Dancin' will go on limited release on Friday, and will be screened at the Odeon in Newcastle.

It is then hoped the film will open in other cinemas across the region.

"I'm very excited about it," said producer Ray, who made 18 ratings-topping Catherine Cookson dramas in the region.

"It was great to be back in the North East for the film's closing scenes. I have a great affinity with the area, I still love it."

In Man Dancin', Ferns is cast as Jimmy Kerrigan, a gangster who returns to his tough Glasgow housing estate after nine years in jail.

Many think he's gone soft, but his rival gangsters aren't so sure. Jimmy is press-ganged into appearing in a passion play by a local priest, and he find his life takes on a new direction. …
