SCHOOL ZONE; Orange Park ROTC Scores Wins at Meet

Orange Park High School's Naval Junior Reserve Office Training Corps unit competed recently at a field meet at Jacksonville University. The unit placed first or second in most of the 11 events. Here are the results: first place, personnel inspection; second place, unarmed basic; second place, unarmed exhibition; first place, armed push ups; first place, sit-ups; first place, 8x100 relay; second place, 8x200 relay. They placed second overall in a field of 15 schools. Earning individual medals were: Aqueel Majied -- third place, pushups; Tri Anh Nguten -- second place, pushups; Ashley Early -- first place, female sit-ups; and Eric Ross, first place, male sit-ups. The unit will go to Atlanta in late February to attempt to qualify for the national finals in April.

The following Ridgeview Elementary students have earned "A" honor roll for the second nine weeks:
