Two men have admitted taking part in a credit card cloning scam after targeting North East banks and travel agents.

They pleaded guilty to obtaining and attempting to obtain cash from travel agents and banks when they appeared before Bedlington magistrates yesterday.

Wen Lin Lin, 21, and Pang Uyw Sii, 33, both of no fixed address, were remanded in custody for sentence at Newcastle Crown Court.

Neil Fordor, prosecuting, said Wen Lin Lin dishonestly obtained euros worth just over pounds 3,000 during two trips to the North East this month.

On February 12 he obtained pounds 987 in euros from Thomas Cook in Newcastle and five days later tricked pounds 1,072 from Callers Pegasus at Newcastle Airport - and the same amount on the same day from Hayes Travel, Jarrow.

He also admitted attempting to obtain unspecified quantities of euros on February 17 at the Newcastle Airport branch of the NatWest Bank, Callers Pegasus, Jarrow, Thomas Cook Travel in Cramlington and Morpeth and Callers Pegasus in Ashington. …
