A long-suffering Teesside couple terrorised by gangs of yobs have launched their own internet website cataloguing their misery.

Tony and Linda Gilkes describe how they have been regularly tormented by youths hurling abuse, threatening them, and smashing up their car and home.

The couple have kept a detailed diary of the incidents blighting their lives on Middlesbrough's Thorntree estate.

And they have put details of their ordeal on a website for all to see.

The 117-page dossier describes every alleged incident over a 12 month period at their home in Birkhall Road.

The couple describe incidents that started just before Christmas 2002.

The site names 44 people who are alleged to have been involved in the trouble and includes full addresses for many. They are said to have been responsible for a total of 206 incidents.

The claims include 55 specific threats against people or property, 26 incidents of attempted criminal damage, and 11 of actual criminal damage.

The dossier includes details of the couple's lengthy correspondence with Middlesbrough Council and Cleveland Police, plus copies of Gazette stories highlighting their plight.

There are also photos showing a head injury caused to Mr Gilkes in an alleged assault, damage caused by bricks hurled through the windows of their home and their car, and a chilling note sent to them. which reads: "Ya dead if ya go to court ."

The couple have also complained of their home being pelted with bricks and targeted with a pellet gun.

The couple claim Mr Gilkes has been assaulted, his son Ian threatened with a knife, and threats made to petrol bomb their home and shoot their dog.

Today Mr Gilkes claimed the website described events exactly as they had happened, as well as the response they received from the authorities.
