Spooks Star Keeley Reveals Secrets of Her Success; BBC DRAMA TRIUMPHS AT AWARDS

KEELEY HAWES has already won over millions of viewers in Spooks and she has even been credited for doubling job applications to MI5.

Now she has also triumphed at a major TV awards ceremony.

Hawes, 27, joined other Spooks cast members at the Grosvenor House Hotel to collect the prize for best drama series at the Royal Television Society Programme Awards.

The awards are decided by the industry. The RTS also honoured former BBC director-general Greg Dyke, who resigned over the Hutton Inquiry verdict.

The BBC won most of the awards, although ITV's Coronation Street won best soap. Hawes is shooting the third BBC series about MI5 agents, in which she plays Zoe Reynolds.

Her boyfriend and co-star Matthew MacFadyen missed the awards because of flu. Hawes said: "I did not think we would win it, so this is lovely. I was in the electrical department of John Lewis and this guy came up to me and said 'I've applied'. I said 'For what? …
