Shay Given goes into tonight's UEFA Cup fourth-round tie knowing that if he keeps a clean sheet Newcastle United will sail into the quarter-finals.

But Given, who, together with Gary Speed, will move on to the 35-game mark as United's most experienced European campaigner, is not taking anything for granted despite that 4-1 first-leg victory.

The Republic of Ireland goalkeeper said: "The tie is not over yet and if they get an early goal then it's game on. We have got to approach it as if it is still 0-0.

"We've got to go out there, keep it tight and hopefully get a break to sneak a goal. Yes, we have the goals but we cannot go hell for leather - we will have to play a professional game.

"We've got to make sure we don't give them anything easy to give them or the crowd a lift. …
