Arsenal Are Looking Solid as a Rock

Under normal circumstances, Manchester United at 12-5 to win any Premiership fixture would rate as one of the bets of the season.

But the champions' current form is so dire that Arsenal have to be the call at around 11-10 to win Sunday's crunch match at Highbury.

The bookmakers continue to overestimate United, who have barely played well at all since the turn of the year and were no better than ordinary in seeing off spineless Spurs at the weekend.

Admittedly they have big-match performers in Paul Scholes and Roy Keane, who have enough in them to make things difficult for Arsenal.

But, by the same token, Ruud van Nistelrooy tends to struggle against good defences (his only look-in in two games against Arsenal and Chelsea this season came from the penalty spot) and United's defence looks sure to leak yet more goals.

In contrast, Sol Campbell and Kolo Toure now give Arsenal a rock-solid look at the back which, allied to the all-round brilliance of Patrick Vieira and attacking flair of Thierry Henry and Robert Pires, has turned Arsenal into arguably the strongest side in Europe.

Remember they have only dropped 14 points all season, have won their last nine league fixtures, and are sure to be fully motivated for a match against their arch rivals, even falling in the middle of the Champions' League quarter-final. …
