High Fives at 4-2A; Murray, Frith Score in Five Different Events to Pace District Meets

Episcopal's Teresa Murray and Bolles' Matt Frith will welcome a day off today.

The two senior track standouts each placed in five events Friday to help their team to convincing championships at the District 4-2A track and field championships at The Bolles School.

Frith won the pole vault competition and was nipped in the last couple of strides in the 300-meter hurdles.

"I'm happy with the way I performed today, but I've got to admit I'm exhausted," Murray said. "My timing was perfect today and the conditions were ideal for jumping."

Murray finished first in the high jump and triple jump, was third in the hurdles and fifth in the long jump, in addition to anchoring a second-place 1,600 relay. She's headed to Notre Dame next fall, and might try to make it as a walk-on on the track team in the triple jump.

Frith, who has accepted a track scholarship offer to Florida State where he'll compete in the decathlon, tuned up by scoring points in all five events he entered. …
