David Moyes believes Everton are still not safe from the drop, but nevertheless hailed his side's demolition of Tottenham at Goodison Park.

The Everton manager witnessed a compelling performance which took his team nine points clear of the Barclaycard Premiership drop zone.

But he said: "I don't know whether 37 points will be enough to stay in the Premier League ( but it was certainly an important win and a very, very good performance.

"You are never safe until it is mathematically impossible for people to catch you, and I just want us to keep going and win all our final six games.

"That should take us very near our total of last season.

"We were at them right from the start, we had passion and pace about us. We were bang on all over the pitch.

"We never let them settle and it was with exciting football that makes fans clap and sing. The lads stood up to be counted. The goals all came from defenders, and I know they feel good. …
