Chelsea-bound winger Arjen Robben appears to have made his final appearance for PSV Eindhoven after being forced off with a hamstring injury during yesterday's thrashing of Groningen.

That was the verdict of PSV coach Guus Hiddink who saw the 20-year-old, due to make a u12m move to Stamford Bridge in the summer, come off soon after being introduced as a second-half substitute.

"It looks as though Arjen has played his last game for PSV," said Hiddink.

Robben was making his comeback after being sidelined since March 11 with a similar injury.

Hiddink, whose team are level at 1-1 with Newcastle going into Wednesday's Uefa Cup quarter-final second leg at St James's Park, denied that the decision to use Robben in yesterday's game was a mistake and denied that PSV had been irresponsible.

"It is in a new place, just above the wound which had been cured," said Hiddink.

"He has been tested to the max in the last week. It was justified to bring him in to the game today. …
