In the middle of the second set, Catherine Canady's racket slipped from her hands and bounced harmlessly on to the adjacent court.

It was one of the few slip-ups Friday for the Bolles senior No. 2 seed and the host Bulldogs as they won every match against Stanton in the boys and girls Region 2-2A championships.

Canady's 6-0, 6-1 win was a popular score in the victories that sent both Bolles teams to the state championship, which begins Tuesday in Tampa. Four other Bulldogs dropped one game in their singles matches and two of the boys posted 6-0, 6-0 scores.

Senior No. 1 seed Zach Ganger was one of them. The 2003 state semifinalist kept Stanton sophomore Clay Garrett on the baseline with his serve and came to the net with confidence point after point.

Garrett, who helped lead the Blue Devils to an undefeated regular season and the Gateway Conference Championship, said Ganger's serve speed gives opponents "no chance to break him. …
