Despite making the healthy total of 111 for six, Ryhope had just seven runs to spare defeating Hylton in the Durham Coast Under-18 League.

Paul Howe was in excellent form for Ryhope and he finished unbeaten with his splendid innings of 73. Brian Conlin took two of the six wickets to fall, conceding just five runs in four overs before becoming top scorer for Hylton.

He made 42 while Andrew Kibble and Liam Barnett each contributed 20, but at the end of the 20 overs Hylton only managed 104 for four.

Seaham Park were all out for just 78 replying to the Houghton total of 78 for seven.

Tim Bowman had a good night with bat and ball for Houghton. He made an unbeaten 40 while for Seaham Park, Darren Sutherland returned figures of 3-11 and Robinson 3-18.

NDurham County League Under-18 clubs were involved in the Bob Pendlebury Cup and Brandon had 25 runs to spare at home to Mainsforth.

After conceding an early wicket, Stephen Wallace and Ian Myers added 83 runs together in just 10 overs leading Brandon to a match-winning total of 119 for one.

Wallace struck three boundaries in an unbeaten 47 while Myers struck two sixes and three fours carrying his bat for 50.

Replying, Mainsforth were restricted to 94 for five.

Esh Winning went down by one run to Haughton. When they made first use of the wicket, Haughton posted 96 for four mainly as a result of the efforts of Matthew Moore with 35no and Michael Bean (24).

Esh were in contention all the way through their innings before ending just short on 95 for eight. Wilson almost snatched victory ending undefeated on 35.

NWillington enjoyed a 10-wickets victory over neighbours Crook Town after holding their rivals to a total of 70 for seven which included 20 by Mark Bowey. Chris Moore picked up three wickets for 20 runs in five overs before Jonathan Askew commanded Willington's reply. …
