October 2003 - pregnant Jodie Phillips of Waterlooville, Hampshire, won a legal victory at the High Court over phone company Hutchinson 3G against the siting of a mast just yards from her home

December 2003 - residents stopped T-mobile workers putting up a mast in Chislehurst with a protest. Permission for the antenna was granted on appeal after Bromley council turned down the initial application. T-Mobile was told it would probably have to reapply for permission. Case pending

January 2004 - a mast was built near villagers' homes in Stowupland, Suffolk, after they lost their fight against its installation because a planning rejection letter arrived late. Mid Suffolk District Council had refused permission for the mast after objections from residents. But under planning law, the firm involved should have been told of the decision within 56 days of its application. The local council's letter arrived three days late

January 2004 - residents launched a battle against Vodafone after the phone giant announced plans to build a mast in Wood Green. …
