HELDER POSTIGA today warned Tottenham that he will quit the Premiership unless the new manager guarantees him first team The [pounds sterling]6.25million striker, who was a flop during his first season at White Hart Lane, is preparing to play for host country Portugal in the European Championships next month.

But he fired a warning shot to Spurs as they continue to search for a new coach.

Postiga was given the cold shoulder treatment by acting manager David Pleat as Spurs battled to save themselves from relegation.

He believes his style of play is much better suited to international football and will not settle for being fourth choice striker next season behind Robbie Keane, Jermain Defoe and Freddie Kanoute.

Postiga said: "Right now, I want to have maximum focus on the national team.

But, if things continue as they have in the season just gone then I will not be able to stay at White Hart Lane because what I really want to do is play. …
