Apocalypse now

The premiere of 'The Day After Tomorrow' After watching the apocalyptic film, guests in need of some light refreshment headed to the after-party at Mint Leaf. Mica Paris and Lisa Butcher, clad in saris,

clearly raided Sonia Gandhi's dressing-up box. Newly engaged Anton Bilton and Lisa Barbuscia were just some of those enjoying the salmon and mojitos. Let's hope the end of the world happens more often.

Floral tribute

Jeff Leatham, floral director at Paris's George V hotel, popped over on Eurostar to celebrate the launch of his book, Flowers by Design, at a party thrown for him by Rose Marie Bravo. His celebrity client list is legendary - even Cher was once moved to say, 'Jeff is not a florist, he's a genius.'

Streamers and balloons festooned the store, and Stella put on her best prom dress and partied with her fellow Beatles offspring, Dhani Harrison and Ringo's son, Jason. There was lashings of beer (courtesy of Stella Artois), champagne and table football, and Alasdhair Willis lurked in the corner. It was a hard day's night.

Preview day at the Chelsea Flower Show

The sun was shining, Giorgio Locatelli was at the barbecue and Diarmuid Gavin and Bunny Guinness were scrapping. Yes, it's Chelsea Flower Show again.

Preview day draws a stellar crowd who want to view the flowerings (or lollipops) without bumping into the general public. Shakira Caine, Theo and Louise Fennell, and, er, Christopher Biggins communed with Chelsea Pensioners before getting ready for the annual Cartier dinner. Sadly, there was no sign of Princess Pushy and her motorcade: she was too busy lecturing on the colonies in New York.
