When Ray Graham asked for potholes in front of his garage to be filled in, he thought it would prove a minor job.

But one year on, he still had the jobsheet - and the holes.

Mr Graham, of Monmouth Road, Eston, asked Coast and Country Housing to repair the area in front of his garage at Mosedale Drive.

That was in June last year. After that he made up to 18 phone calls and fired off a complaint form. Only now has the work been done

Mr Graham was even issued a jobsheet straight away, with the job description "filling holes in front of garage with Tarmac" and an expected completion date of July 10, 2003. The jobsheet recently celebrated its first birthday without being honoured.

But within 48 hours of the Gazette contacting Coast & Country, workers turned up to fill the offending holes.

Mr Graham, who rents the garage from Coast & Country, said: "I think 12 months for minor repairs is a bit much.

"They even changed the garage doors and painted one side of them, yet they didn't repair the holes. …
