MORTON'S SERVES UP ONLINE RESERVATION SYSTEM

Diners can now surf the Web to get surf and turf.

Morton's, The Steakhouse is introducing a new service that allows patrons to book table reservations 24 hours a day on the Internet. The electronic system is called the OpenTable service, Morton's said in a news release.

Morton's, which operates a restaurant in the Southbank neighborhood, said it is the first restaurant in Jacksonville to provide such a service.

"Our relationship with the OpenTable electronic reservation and guest management system means that now, no matter where our customers are or what the hour, as long as they have access to the Internet they can make a reservation right here in Jacksonville and have it confirmed instantly," General Manager Luis Garcia said.

Customers can make reservations by logging on www.mortons.com and clicking on the "locations" bar, then Jacksonville, and finally "Make online reservation."

Fill in details such as the number of guests, date and time and click on "See available tables." That's when the customer verifies the table is available and submits the reservation. Patrons can return to the site to change the reservation or cancel it altogether, the release said.
