Redgrave: Olympics Still Float My Boat

Five-time Olympic champion Steve Redgrave has admitted "it will be odd" commentating from the sidelines and not competing at this summer's Athens Games.

Redgrave, who won the last of his five consecutive rowing gold medals at Sydney four years ago, will be offering his expert analysis in Athens and is also offering guidance to some young athletes, including Welsh cyclist Nicole Cooke.

The BBC will this summer screen 1,200 hours of Olympic coverage and also broadcast live action from the Paralympics.

Action from Athens will start as early as 7am on most days and Olympic Grandstand will be complemented by Olympic Report round-up programmes at lunchtime and in the early evening.

Steve Cram and Hazel Irvine will start the ball rolling each day with the morning coverage before handing over to Clare Balding and Craig Doyle in the afternoon.

Steve Rider and Sue Barker will present all the evening action over the course of the Games, which start on August 13, before Balding and Doyle return to look back on the day. …
