Lee Dicken, currently out of the Newcastle Diamonds team following the arrival of Lubos Tomicek, is set to revive his Premier League career by joining Glasgow this weekend.

Dicken, 25, is on loan to Newcastle from Hull but the Diamonds are now loaning him on to Glasgow for 28 days, beginning on Sunday.

Co-promoter George English said today: "We have been unable to get Lee into our side because his average of 5.13 is too high.

"We promised him if another club came in for him we would not stand in his way.

"Lee has shown immense loyalty to us and has been keeping his hand in by riding for the Ultrafast Gems in the Conference League.

"Glasgow wanted him to ride at Workington tomorrow.

"However, as the Gems are one of eight sides chosen to ride in the Conference Four Team Championship at Stoke, Lee will be making his last appearance there as a Newcastle rider for the time being."

Newcastle will look at the situation again when new averages, operative from August 1, come into play to see if Dicken could possibly come into the Diamonds line-up then. …
