80s rock band adds second date to sell-out City Hall gig

Eighties rockers Whitesnake are returning to Tyneside this autumn.

The veteran band are adding a second date after selling out their first at Newcastle City Hall on October 8.

Due to popular demand they will be playing a second on Friday October 29 to reward their North East fans.

Former Deep Purple vocalist David Coverdale first formed Whitesnake around 1977.

In 1987 they released their most popular album which contained their classic rock hit Here I Go Again and power ballad Is This Love.

Before they recorded their follow-up, 1989's Slip of the Tongue, Coverdale assembled a new version of the band, featuring guitarist Steve Vai.

Although the record went platinum, it was a considerable disappointment after the across-the-board success of Whitesnake and they split shortly after.

In 1997, Coverdale resurrected Whitesnake and they have been touring the world for their delighted fans ever since. …
