France's new cycling sensation Thomas Voeckler has declared that there are "no limits" to what he can accomplish after holding on to the yellow jersey for nine days.

The 25-year-old Brioches la Boulangere rider, who is also French national champion, is leading Lance Armstrong by only 22 seconds.

But for Voeckler, those precious seconds could prove vital to him and his team.

Voeckler, who is fast emerging as the future of French cycling, said: "I am more surprised to keep the yellow jersey than to lose it.

"On Friday when I climbed on the podium I thought I was putting it on for the last time.

"I have been wearing it for the nine past days and I am now more aware of my abilities. I actually don't know my limits.

"My team-mates have also helped me a lot, they motivate me. I am very happy to have held on and kept the yellow jersey.

"This year's Tour de France is simply the best and the summit of our career."

Armstrong paid tribute to the determination shown by Voeckler to hold on to the yellow jersey. …
