Hey! Wor lass is really ower the moon

Cos aa sed ad take hor ower the toon

She wants ti gerrup ind gan oot oarly

But getting up sharp, only mekes me surly

So iboot half past ten we'el take a bus

56 or twenty fower that'll dee forus

Past Beacon Lough ind doon Sod Hoose bank

Past the High Fell club, a place aa should thank

Strite through Gateshead, a place full iv change

Hevvin a rest it the Metro exchange

Past the Hilton, a hotel full of pride

Wi the Sage standin proud on the other side

Then ower the bridge into Newcastle toon

Aa gerroff the bus, am ower the moon

The air is still, the place is warm

Ind me ind wor lass waak iboot arm in arm

Up Northumberland Street ti see the Haymarket

Aa nivvor take the car cos theres nee where ti park it

Then ower Porcy Street ti the Oxfam shop

Ind here she gets into a strop

She see's these shoes, she thinks are fine

Aa says ti hor, what! …
