A culture of high-fat snacking could be contributing to the "alarming" increase in heart disease in the UK, a report claimed today.

Research by health education charity Developing Patient Partnerships found a 25% of people regularly missed lunch at work, rising to 32% of manual workers.

It showed that many people were replacing traditional meals with "grazing" on foods that were often dangerously high in saturated fat.

Cash and grab

FLAMBOYANT North East millionaire George Reynolds is back in court today to fight a police bid to confiscate the pounds 500,000 they seized when he was arrested on suspicion of money laundering.
